About This Workshop
Dissociation is a form of emotional and physical disconnection. It can feel like zoning out, going numb, feeling far away, freezing, or being physically present but emotionally somewhere else. It often happens when the nervous system feels overwhelmed and is trying to protect us.
Join us for a warm, informative, and interactive face-to-face workshop exploring how emotional shutdown and disconnection can show up in romantic relationships and how we can begin to understand, support, and reconnect with more compassion.
Romantic relationships can bring love, closeness, safety, and connection, but they can also activate old wounds, fears, and nervous system responses. Sometimes, during emotional moments or conflict, one partner may become distant, quiet, numb, distracted, frozen, or hard to reach. This can feel painful and confusing for both people.
In this two-hour workshop, psychologist and Ground Me co-founder Bilge will explore why emotional disconnection can happen, how to recognise it, and how grounding can help. Tamara Kramer, a transformational life coach, will bring insight into romantic connection, self-confidence, boundaries, and how to support your partner without losing yourself.
Together, we will explore practical tools, gentle grounding exercises, and communication ideas that can help couples and individuals better understand emotional distance and create more safety in their relationships.
This workshop is open to all genders, aged 18+. You can attend individually or with a partner. You do not need to have prior knowledge of this topic to join.
